About the Maro Brothers

Charlie Wilson
At the tender age of twelve, Charlie got his first guitar and quickly joined a band with some slightly older friends.
A few years later, they took over the Saturday night dance that his brother Rex’s band had started in Brighton, IL. The dance was held in the old village hall, and became known as Teen Town.   The weekly event grew into something much bigger than any of them could imagine. “The whole scene was like something out of Footloose,” said Charlie, “and it was very polarizing for a small town like Brighton.  Parents either loved the dance, or they hated it.”

Just after high school, Charlie and some schoolmates took a trip to Southern Florida where they got their first taste of the tropics …

In the years that followed, he played with various bands, often traveling back to the South or to the East Coast.
He eventually moved to Houston, Texas, where he lived, playing music and working in sales, for over twelve years.  It was during this time that Charlie started writing his own songs.

After a five-year stint in California in the early nineties, and many more road miles, Charlie returned to the mid-west, where his musical journey started.  He and Todd discussed having a duo in 2004, but for various reasons the project never came to fruition.  In 2008, they found themselves together again in PHINS, a St. Louis based Jimmy Buffett tribute band.  Then, last year, the timing was right, the great Southern Star twinkled approvingly; the planets aligned, yada, yada, and the Maro Brothers was born!

Todd Allen Price
Todd Allen (Sometimes Taylor) Price, Guitarist Extraordinaire, hails from the Great North Woods of Northern Wisconsin. From his humble beginnings to his humble present, he owes all to his uncanny ability to mimic musical melodies, or as he has been known to say, “I just do what that other guy did.”

Mirroring his first chords from his father as a toddler, perfecting “riffs” seen and duplicated from MTV as a teen, and finally, borrowing “licks” from all of his musician friends, Todd has traveled almost all of these United States making noise in one way or another.

To this day, he still travels, though not as frequently, because of his love for his many cats waiting at home for his return. But, his true love for music has never wavered. He has also been known to say, with a tear in his eye, “I may not be a smart man, Jenny (His Guitar), but I know what music is.”
